The Federal State market news is reporting the market as: DEMAND BALED GOOD, OTHERS LIGHT.
MARKET BALED STEADY, OTHERS LOWER. The tone on the conference call this week indicated good demand consumers and light demand on cartons sizes.

70 count carton Burbanks are at $28.00 per cwt, down $11.00 per last week with some sales as low as $26.00 and 10# Poly is at $22.00. The FWA this week is at $25.62, down $3.89, which translates into an approximate return of $15.23 per cwt, down $1.63 per cwt on a Russet Norkotah crop that splits 75% one’s 50% Size? For additional split scenarios please refer to the Grower return matrix on unitedpotato.com.

Growers, the current carton market is in a state of free fall. Our only option to stop the prices from collapsing further is to go to storage. If you are currently running potatoes, please communicate with the shed you are running and look into all storage options.
